Our Story
The first Stews Barbershop was built in Aurora, Illinois in 1983 by James “Stew” Stewart. Stew got his nickname from his high school friends and it stuck.
When Stew was still in high school, barbering was offered as an elective class. Always looking for a reason to get out of school, he took it. After graduating from high school and barber school a few months later, Stew began his barbering career.
Finally, after a few years of working for other people, he decided to strike out on his own. His main goal was to create a barbershop and an environment that a father and son would be proud to say, “We got our hair cut at Stew’s!”
Today, we have not one but five branches across California. We have one in Ladera Ranch, Temecula, Lake Elsinore, and Wildomar.
